Assessing the Effects of the Camino de Santiago on Resilience & Burnout

Buen Camino!

People from all over the world walk the Camino for various reasons including personal growth, adventure, a physical challenge, and for religious or spiritual reasons.  At the Center for Transforming Engagement, we are resilience experts interested in learning how walking the Camino can help with burnout recovery, and whether it helps people grow through adversity – what we call resilience.

We are excited for you to help us with our research!! Here is what you can expect as a participant:

  1. Please answer the questions below as honestly as possible for how you feel right now.
  2. In a few weeks, we’ll email you a follow-up to ask how you’re doing after the walk.
  3. We’ll compare pilgrims’ responses (in aggregate) in their initial and second responses to see if there are markers of burnout recovery or of resilience development. When we analyze and compile this data, we’ll email that to you, so you can learn about what we’ve discovered.

By completing this assessment, you consent to the use of your data in research about the impact of walking the Camino on burnout and resilience. We will not share your data or contact information. Data will only be analyzed in aggregate.
