The below is used only for purpose of small group placement. Each question is optional. If you would like, please answer the following to assist in our small group placement:

The intent behind this question is to gather information about significant psychiatric or psychological treatment (e.g. recent experience or memory of intense trauma, onset of PTSD, hospitalization, suicide attempts, or in-patient rehab). We encourage and honor personal therapeutic work and do not discriminate against individuals who have sought help. If your answer to this question is “yes”, then we’d like to gain a greater understanding of where you are in your own process in order to decide together whether or not this program would be safe and honoring for you at this time.

We offer two different scholarship amounts. Scholarships are reserved for participants who demonstrate financial hardship and/or those who are from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups.

If you are not a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) registrant, please use the following guidelines:

To determine which scholarship amount is right for you, please refer to this Green Bottle Sliding Scale graphic designed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk.

If you fall into the “full bottle” category on the scale, we ask that you not request a scholarship for this program. If you fall into the “half-full bottle” category on the scale, please request the $100 scholarship. If you fall into the “quarter-full bottle” category on this scale, please request $200 scholarship.

For BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color) participants only:

In this offering, you will be engaging stories of personal and collective trauma, which may include identity-related trauma such as racial trauma. For the purposes of story group placement, we are welcoming you to share any story group preferences you may have with The Allender Center Team. We take your preferences into sincere consideration when we form story groups, and if you express an interest in an all-BIPOC group, we will be in communication with you before the program begins if this is not possible to accommodate.
We seek to set a table for discourse in the intersections of theology, psychology, culture, and spirituality. That means we embrace in our life and work a commitment to racial, ethnic, and gender diversity and an inclusive welcome to communions represented in the global church. Our admissions philosophy is to receive applications without discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual identity, sexual orientation, military status, or denomination.

Although responses are helpful to us, the following few questions are optional at the time of application. For certain programs, some of these questions may be required at the time of enrollment.  Please be assured that your responses will not influence your likelihood of admission.
